Hinchliffe Surfacing
Aftercare

Keep your new surface looking its best.

A little regular care makes a difference. Explore general guidance for each surface below, and always follow the product-specific instructions supplied for your installation.

Resin bound

  • Keep off for the curing time we give you on handover; it varies with temperature.
  • Sweep regularly and rinse with a garden hose to keep the pores open.
  • Remove oil and fuel spills promptly using the cleaner the manufacturer recommends.
  • Avoid sharp turning of steering wheels while stationary on hot days.
  • Don't use salt-free de-icers or solvents without checking manufacturer guidance.

Tarmac & asphalt

  • Avoid heavy point loads (skips, caravan jacks) while the surface is new; use boards to spread loads.
  • Wash off fuel and oil spills, which soften bitumen.
  • Keep edges clear of soil build-up so water drains off.

Block paving

  • Top up jointing sand as needed, especially in the first months.
  • Brush weeds and moss from joints; don't pressure-wash the sand out of the joints.
  • Re-level any settled block early before it spreads.
