Everything you might want to ask.
We've answered the questions that come up most often, from materials to timelines to aftercare. Can't find what you need? Just give Dan a call.
Site assessments
Is the site assessment a booked appointment?+
Not until we've spoken and agreed a time. Your online request starts that conversation.
What happens at the assessment?+
We measure, check levels, the existing surface, edges, access and where water will go, and show you samples.
Will I get a price on the day?+
Usually not. We prepare a written proposal afterwards so the scope and price are worked out in detail.
Construction
Why does the base matter so much?+
The base supports the surface and carries the loads above it. Its depth, material and compaction need to suit your ground and the way the driveway is used.
Can you lay over my existing drive?+
Sometimes. Only if the existing base is sound and the levels work. We check before recommending an overlay.
What about drainage?+
Water has to go somewhere. Your proposal says where, whether that's through a permeable build-up, to a soakaway or to a drain.
Do I need planning permission?+
Some front-garden surfaces need it, depending on size, permeability and drainage. We'll flag it, but please confirm with your council.
Quotes & payments
Is an estimate the same as a quote?+
No. An indicative estimate is a guide. A fixed quotation follows your site assessment and sets out the exact scope.
How are payments staged?+
Your proposal explains each payment stage, the amount due and when it becomes payable. Any deposit terms are set out for you to review.
What if something changes on site?+
We agree any variation in writing, with its price and effect on the programme, before doing the work.
After the work
How do I look after my new drive?+
See our aftercare page. Care depends on the surface and the manufacturer's guidance for the materials used.
Is there a guarantee?+
Your proposal sets out the applicable guarantee terms, including the cover, conditions and any product warranties, so you can review them before accepting.
